Come join us at the Vert Auditorium (480 S.W. Dorion Ave., Pendleton) on Tuesday, November 4 from 6:30-9pm. A 23-member New Orleans-style brass band will be performing a variety of genres and patriotic selections.

Pioneer Park reopens to the community

Pioneer Park Playground has been reopened to the public. City crews recently completed demolition, site clean-up, and placement of wood bark donated by Blue Mountain Lumber Products. The swing set and children’s play area are available for use by the community.

American Association of University Women (AAUW) and city representatives have met to discuss rebuilding the playground. AAUW members originally sponsored the development and construction of the Pioneer Park Playground. AAUW members have expressed the desire to conduct another “community build” project using the same materials and playground layout. 

Pumpkin Fest

Children ages 2-11 and their parents are invited to join the Pendleton Parks & Recreation "Pumpkin Fest" at the BMCC farm on Friday, October 19.  Enjoy a guided tour by BMCC Ag students through the farm's 100 acres. Tours begin at 4 PM, topped off with cookies and apple juice to make for a perfect outdoor afternoon!

Mayor receives James C. Richards Memorial Award

Pendleton Mayor Phillip Houk recently received one of the highest honors a mayor in Oregon can receive – the James C. Richards Memorial Award, which recognizes exceptional contributions by elected city officials at the local, state and federal levels.

City Receives Safety Award

The City of Pendleton was once again a recipient of a Safety Award from the League of Oregon Cities.  The award was presented to the Mayor and City Council members at the annual conference last week.  The award recognizes the City for maintaining a safe work environment for its employees by achieving one of the lowest injury rates.

It boasts beautiful scenery, a plethora of native birds, excellent fishing and a cool reprieve from the hot summer sun. However, keeping Pendleton’s River Parkway beautiful for residents and visitors alike takes some work, and you can help!

City Hall Week – A Forum for State and Local Policy Makers

Cities across Oregon have designated September 17-21, as “City Hall Week.”  In 21 host cities, city officials will lead a forum with legislators and candidates on issues that support the economic vitality and stability of Oregon communities.

In Pendleton, City Hall Week will be held on September 17th in the City Hall Council Chambers beginning at 7:00 p.m.
