City of Pendleton to offer ePermitting to contractors, provide training on January 22, 2018.

Release Date:
12/20/2017

The City of Pendleton Building Department is pleased to announce that we will be offering an online permit purchasing and tracking system called ePermitting. As of January 22, 2018, contractors will be able to apply for and purchase all building permits online, submit plans electronically and schedule inspections  24/7 by phone, computer or smartphone via the ePermitting website at www.BuildingPermits.Oregon.gov.

In 2003 (SB 713), and in 2007 (HB 2405), the Oregon Legislature adopted bills that created a voluntary statewide ePermitting system to improve contractor access to building permits and services. The ePermitting system builds upon the benefits of statewide code standards by providing a uniform platform for online, streamlined access to building services.

The City of Pendleton joins a growing list of local jurisdictions including Hermiston, Umatilla County and Union County in offering ePermitting services statewide to provide:

·         Online access to apply, pay for and receive building permits 24/7

·         Automated inspection scheduling via phone or computer

·         Comprehensive permit tracking and data collection

·         Electronic plan review

·         Mobile app for inspectors and contractors

The City of Pendleton is working with the Oregon Building Codes Division to provide local training to contractors on how to use the ePermitting system. The first training is being offered on January 22, 2018, from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at Pendleton City Hall. Contractors and their staff are encouraged to attend in person. For more information please contact Jerod Broadfoot, Outreach and Training Coordinator at the Oregon Building Codes Division via email at jerod.a.broadfoot@oregon.gov or cell phone 541-240-1256.
