At the Tuesday night City Council meeting, the City Council unanimously voted to appoint Paul Chalmers to fill the At-Large position made vacant by the resignation of Jane Hill at the end of January.

Earlier in the evening, the Council interviewed all five of the individuals who had submitted a letter expressing interest in being appointed to this interim position.  Other candidates included Larry Anderson, Paul Rabitaille, Jim Swearingen, and James Tibbets.  Councilor McDonald expressed her appreciation to all of the candidates for their interest in serving the City in this capacity, and said she was impressed with the presentation made by each of them.

Mr. Chalmers brings 26 years of experience working in the public sector and a wealth of knowledge in government operations to the position.

After the Council's vote, Mr. Chalmers was sworn in, and took a seat at the Council dais for the remainder of the meeting.
