8th Street Bridge Presentation

Release Date:
11/20/2015

Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), their consultant, Oregon Bridge & Engineering Consultants (OBEC), and the City of Pendleton held a 30% design open house on Thursday, November 19, 2015 to update the affected neighborhood on the design status and considerations for impacts of the project.  Public Works Director introduced the project team, OBEC’s Project Manager presented the project and led the discussion, and ODOT staff discussed the potential for a historic district and the steps required for historic designations, noting that the existing bridge on one of the homes in the immediate area are listed on the historic registry.

After the presentation was completed, OBEC & city staff met directly with the affected property owners in attendance to further discuss specific property impacts.  The property owners in attendance were supportive of the direction and considerations being provided in the city’s Right-of-Way and on the impacts to their properties.  OBEC and city staff will continue to coordinate these impacts with the affected property owners.
